Fusion Electrics were awarded the tender for the electrical fit-out of the office space for Ocean King’s new facility in Derby via our long-term partner and main contractor, Vision Projects.
Ocean King’s new building contains both a warehouse and an office, allowing them to expand their successful business of supplying fresh and frozen food products to the restaurant and catering sector nationwide. The fit-out was an extensive job, including all power, lighting, fire alarms, mechanical supplies and door access systems.
Challenge
Fusion Electrics were responsible for the electrical fit-out of the office, working in conjunction with other trades and under the instruction of Vision Projects. The programme for this project was quite tight so there was a requirement for close coordination between the different contractors on site, so work was not held up. With Fusion’s extensive commercial experience, this was not a problem for our practised Project Managers and Site Supervisors, who were able to meet the intermediary project deadlines successfully.
How we helped
Commercial office fit-outs have their own unique sets of issues, but with a comprehensive design and build approach, Fusion Electrics were able to navigate many of the issues that would ordinarily create issues in a quick turnaround programme like this.
With a solid understanding of the procurement issues likely to affect the programme and with the support of our in-house projects team and trusted suppliers, Fusion Electrics were able to deliver and install the lighting and electrical systems within good time and without issue.
Outcome
Fusion Electrics carefully managed themselves alongside other contractors to achieve the perfect office fit-out for Ocean King’s new building in Derby. All of Fusion’s electrical works were completed within two months, well within schedule, and involved a number of different services that comply with Electrical & BAFE SP203-1 regulations as well as BS7671 and installing a fire alarm system which is essential for fire safety compliance BS5839-1 within a commercial building:

This project will allow Ocean King to manage their new warehouse from within the same facility and continue providing reliable wholesale services across the Midlands and the rest of the UK, and we wish them well with their continued growth.
