The Challenge: HMP Ashfield is a category C adult male establishment holding 400 convicted prisoners serving sentences for sexual offences. The prison has seven purpose-built disabled cells that are Disability Discrimination Act compliant and also provides support for prisoners with social care needs. Ashfield Prison is privately run by Serco, and was the first private prison in the UK to house young offenders.
