Pal International is a UK-based manufacturer specialising in the production of high-quality hygiene wipes for the healthcare, food and beverage, and industrial markets. In 2024, they engaged Fusion alongside the main contractor, the Lindum Group, to construct a new production facility in Bardon Hill, Coalville, Leicestershire. This new development included the construction of a new clean room, mix room and production facility, as well as the installation of office and welfare facilities for staff.
The Challenge:
As Pal had to vacate their existing premises, this project required us to coordinate electrical services in a congested production and manufacturing area. This meant careful planning and a collaborative approach to ensure that the client was able to continue their operations as seamlessly as possible throughout the 20-week project.
How We Helped Pal International:
The new building required complete installation of electrical services for both office and production facilities. We delivered a fully integrated solution, including primary and secondary containment with galvanised trunking, basket containment and ladder racks for submain cables. Our work also covered ventilation, heating and smart lighting with absence and presence detection.
To ensure safety and compliance, we installed emergency lighting, fire alarms with aspiration detection, CCTV and access control systems. A complete network infrastructure, including external fibre and Cat6 cabling, was fully commissioned and certified to meet operational requirements.
The Outcome:
This new facility provides capacity for future growth, improved manufacturing capability and increased product output. The office and warehouse operations were the first to be completed, allowing Pal International to continue operations seamlessly from their new premises. We then prepared the production area for the transfer of the six existing production lines, including the installation of a new flow wrap converting and packaging line.
The facility is now fully operational and supporting Pal International as they continue to expand and improve their production capabilities for flow wrap and canister products.
